I Can, I Will

Three days ago, I started my new job at the local university!  Before heading off to work on my first day, I asked Seth to "document" my first day of my new career with a photo. (I've traded in my scrubs for business casual! Woo hoo!)

I just finished my third day and couldn't believe 10 hours flew by.  I am excited to begin co-teaching a 16-week course this Saturday AND I found out today that I will be instructing an 8-week course starting mid-October as well as, developing a new course! Eeeek!
This evening, I left work with a headache thinking about everything I need to do this semester, but I know that grad school prepared me for this and I know I CAN do this and I WILL succeed. :)

For educators and others who have ongoing tasks -- how do you organize your enormous list of tasks?

Comments

  1. Sub-categorize and prioritize your list. You can do it!

    1. I just found helpful videos about Microsoft Outlook (365). I"m going to try out the electronic task list on it and see how i like it. I plan to keep the paper copy until i feel confident i'm doing well with the electronic task list.

  2. I have some good tips for managing emails, love the empty inbox concept and think it made me a much more responsive employee. Would probably help you make sure all your students get quick responses! I can talk you through it next time we chat if you are interested :-)

    1. This is Carlie FYI, not sure why it says Unknown, but only gives the Sign Out button? Anyway...Glad that your days are flying by, that is a good sign!

    2. Thanks Carlie, I have made more folders and I'm categorizing them as soon as they arrive. As well as flagging those that need to go onto my "task list." I am planning to arrive 30 minutes before I actually need to be there so I can review email first thing and get things organized. Regarding comments on this page -- if you have a google acct you can enter it or you can choose from the dropdown "name/url" and enter your name. :)
